We are saved by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony...
Revelation 12:11
Not even sure exactly where or how to being to unfold this testimony, but will give it a try. We know our testimonies are powerful and meant to be shared, to grow the hope and faith in others. So, here goes.
My husband and I met in March of 2023. He lived in Ontario, Canada (at the time) and I lived in Abilene, Texas. We both knew that God had placed us in each other's lives. We married in September of 2023 and also began attending Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, through True Life Church in Round Rock, Texas. We were so excited at what God was unfolding and that He brought us together, that we hadn't thought one time about problems that might arise with us being from two different countries. Yes, we applied for the marriage Visa, etc. But, we knew God, and believed we were following his guidance. However, we quickly learned that his not being a US citizen brought with it a multitude of difficulty we never anticipated. We weren't able to rent an apartment. No lease would accept him without US SSN. He couldn't work in the US or get an ID, and on and on it went. We also only had one vehicle, as Todd had sold his before coming to the US.
Long story, short, we tried to purchase a second vehicle and soon discovered no one would finance us jointly, since he didn't have a SSN or a Visa. I had a good job, working in Human Resources full-time for a big Tech company in Austin and Todd had been self-employed as a saddle maker for over 30 years. Yet, no one would approve financing. We had no idea that would be an issue.
We had been looking for property to buy as well, and soon learned the same was true for real estate. We went to lender after lender who said they could navigate international mortgage loans. But all stopped short somewhere in the middle, because of the same thing. No SSN. No Visa. Canada is a Visa exempt country. So, no Visa is necessary for Canadians to travel to the US. Hence, the reason Todd had no Visa.
Well, we didn't know all that before we went looking to buy a truck. Turns out, for both of us, our dream truck was a black Dodge Ram 3500 dually, with a Diesel Cummins. (God is fun like that) We had gone to a dealership looking at something else and we spotted "the truck." There it was! That very truck! We tried hard to ignore it, as it was so far out of the price range we were looking in. But, of course we looked at each other and said, "we can just test drive it for fun."
We drove it. Fell in love with it, and promptly went to financing department to fill out paperwork to see if it would work out. They tried and tried to find a lender that would work with our circumstance. After two weeks of rejections, we decided it wasn't going to be. We thanked them for their efforts and asked them to stop trying.
Cut to three months later. Todd's property sold in Ontario and the funds from the sale were deposited into our US bank account. Which was actually was another whole issue. Trying to get a US bank account without a SSN. Who knew?
We heard God tell us to buy the truck, first, before anything else. Next, to put 10% from the sale into a "Kingdom" account to be used to bless others, when he asked us to.
Sounds simple, right? But it’s scary to take a big chunk of money, like that and go spend it all at once! Especially when we wanted property so badly. We had been looking for ranch property to start Ranch Ministry. “What about that God?”
“Go get the truck,” He said.
Us arguing: “But it’s not even gonna still be there. It’s been so long.”
“Go get the truck," He says.
We agree to go look. Just sure it won’t even be there, so we don’t have to worry about it. We go to the truck lot. It is there. (No Way!) We walk in and greet the owners. It was a small, used truck dealer owned by husband and wife. It was good to see them again. After some chitchat, we ask about the truck. “How is it still here?” we ask. They said they had so many people want to buy it, but none of them ever worked out. (Ha!) We tried not to laugh out loud. But, we now knew why. Trying to shorten the story, once again. We made the deal. Purchased the truck, did a global wire transfer to them for the total amount.
Wow! Wow! We were in so much disbelief at the whole thing. And that was just the tip of this amazing iceberg of a testimony. We knew we were destined to ranch and needed this truck. We also were living in the city and going to school and it made no sense to be buying it right then. But, God was lining things up.
We were in awe and absolutely wrecked by how God lined things up and we had our dream truck. Made no sense, in the natural, but we were ridiculously giddy about it anyway. And soon, He made a request of us with the truck. We heard Him say, “You say you are on fire for me, right?” Yes. “Then prove it.” “Are you willing to put our faith loud and proud on the truck?” Being on fire has a look, an atmosphere, a sound, a taste, a scent. It doesn’t look like everyone else walking around day after day the same old way. We understood the assignment and were excited to accept it. We did argue a bit about what it would cost to do it. And you can imagine how that argument went. Who is our provider? Is it us? He made a way for the truck! HE did that! Brought the finances, where we couldn’t finance. Saved the truck for us, when it made no sense it was still there. So, okay. We will. Show us what YOU want the truck to be and we will partner with you and get it done.
Of course that took some time to accomplish. In the meantime, He put it on our hearts to get the license plates personalized. Really??!!!! Yes. Okay, what is it you want God? We thought Moses. But, Moses didn’t make it into the promised land. So, that wasn’t it. He said, “Big God.” Of course. But, I bet that’s already taken. How could that not be taken?? It wasn’t taken. LOL He’s so covering. And, very thorough.
He said this truck will be a ministry tool. It will especially speak to men and draw them into an encounter with Todd and God. It will open up conversations that may not have otherwise happened. It will testify to being on fire for God, even if we never get to speak. God is soooooo covering.
God put it on our hearts that this truck also was to have a name. It is blessed and has an impact on the atmosphere everywhere it is. Alright Lord, what is the name you want? He said, “Immanuel.”
Immanuel means “God with us.” (Of course)
So…. We have amazing encounters with the people that did the wrap on the truck. God gave us every detail about the design. He asks us to call out the gold in others, so there had to be gold on it. He gave us the look of it all. The amazing wrap business, helped it come to life.
Now, we get to use this incredible testimony and radical Kingdom tool, to go out and shepherd love encounters with God too.
We are beyond excited!
Now we hear God say to us, “with great power comes great responsibility.” We have a big responsibility in how we act and live out this testimony. Driving the truck is just the beginning. People watch us – how we drive, are we approachable, friendly, uplifting, etc. Are we walking the walk, not just driving a big billboard bout God? We’re doing our best to do that.
After some time driving Immanuel around, having people give thumbs up sometimes, waving sometimes, honking sometimes, and sometimes flippin us off… We hear God ask something else of us. He says we need to have the trumpet sound too. To make a big impact with sound as well as visually. Huh?!??! What?!! “Yes,” He says. “I want you to make it loud and proud to leave lasting impression with people too.” (sigh) Okay. What do we do? We hear him ask us to put a train horn in the truck. That’ s right. A train horn. I didn’t even know that as a thing. I didn’t know that was possible. Sure enough, we found it. Another $1200 to put in a train horn. Ouch! Really, a train horn?? Do you know how much those cost?!?!?!
Yes. We had the horn installed. Yes, it’s ridiculously awe-some. Just as God is.
Yes, we use the truck for ministry. We take it to the street often, loaded up with food and drinks, to minister to those living on the street. Yes, we are delighted every day we get to be His hands in feet. We have so many testimonies to share, it is impossible to post them all here.
Prayin we get to share one with you someday too.

On this day we faced a VERY difficult decision. Finding ourselves at a financial crossroads and believed we had to make the tough sacrifice for the greater good. It was with great difficulty and sense of grief that we decided we had to sell our beloved BIG GOD truck, Immanuel. We know God has more on store. Cant wait to see what He has next for us. We understood the dealership we sold to was going to take the wrap off as well.
God with us.
